WHO WE ARE
Urban Partners is a voluntary business partnership made up of a diverse range of member organisations from across the King’s Cross, St Pancras and Euston area. Members give their time, expertise and resources to achieve our shared vision and mission for the local area. With over 100 members and representing over 15,000 employees, Urban Partners has delivered social impact locally for over 10 years.
Urban Partners is the trading name of King’s Cross and St. Pancras Business Partnership Limited.
THE BEGINNING - 2021
In 2011, eight businesses who were early adopters of the shifting King’s Cross, St Pancras and Euston area recognised that working together would yield increased social impact and community engagement.
The businesses founded the King's Cross Business Partnership Limited company, committing funds and appointing a director to the company’s board. The board of directors would provide oversight for the company whilst also addressing the challenge of how to deliver programmes that would achieve the desired impact for the local community.
The company would tweak its name to King’s Cross and St. Pancras Business Partnership Limited in September 2013, incorporating St. Pancras into the name in recognition of the prominent St. Pancras International Station and the majority of Urban Partners’ boundary sitting within the parliamentary constituency of Holborn and St. Pancras.
2022 - ONWARDS
As the impact of the pandemic continued into 2022, the King’s Cross and St. Pancras Business Partnership Board undertook a refresh of Urban Partners’ strategy and a refocus of the business partnership’s priorities. The review aimed to streamline Urban Partners activity in advance of a return to ‘normal’ for its member businesses and the local community. By narrowing Urban Partners’ focus to three core themes, the partnership could deliver increased social impact in ways specific to the local community’s requirements.

OUR STRUCTURE
Urban Partners is made up of two tiers of membership:
Board Members – Strategic vision and oversight of the partnership as the King’s Cross and St. Pancras Business Partnership board of directors.
Executive Members – Design and delivery of the partnership’s programme of activity through the Executive Committee steering group.
OUR GOVERNANCE
Urban Partners is run by the King’s Cross and St. Pancras Business Partnership Ltd and its appointed delivery partners.
The board has been chaired since 2016, in a voluntary capacity, by Wendy Spinks.
Wendy is the Chief Commercial Officer at London St Pancras Highspeed Ltd and first joined the Urban Partners board of directors in February 2012. She is also Chair of Camden Business Board.
