COMMUNITY FUND

In 2023, we launched a new strategy, focusing on refining and narrowing our goals to create a greater impact within the Camden and Islington areas.

While this strategic approach has been effective, our members recognised that it may limit our ability to support local community partners on projects that don’t align directly with our specific goals.

To address this, we established the Urban Partners Community Fund—a discretionary fund aimed at fostering local initiatives that add social value to our community.

FUNDING CRITERIA

The Urban Partners Community Fund is designed to provide grants ranging from £500 to £1,000 to grassroots organizations and community partners in our areas. These grants are intended to support projects and initiatives that make a positive impact within our community.

As a discretionary fund, the Urban Partners Community Fund is not bound by rigid criteria. Instead, each application is evaluated individually by our Executive Committee, which includes a diverse range of representatives from all Urban Partners member organizations.

However, priority will be given to projects or initiatives that:

  • Operate within our geographic boundary and/or benefit those living within our boundary.

  • Provide opportunities for young people’s enrichment or prepare the next generation to participate positively in life and work. This could include initiatives aligned with Camden Council’s Enrichment Pledge or Islington Council’s Culture and Enrichment Strategy. We are also particularly interested in projects supporting SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disability) students.

  • Promote sustainability at a local level or incorporate green skills.

  • Align with one of our three priority United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals:

  • Goal 4: Quality Education – Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.

  • Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth – Promote sustained, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment, and decent work for all.

  • Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities – Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable.

HOW TO APPLY

To apply for a grant from the Urban Partners Community Fund, applicants must be registered businesses. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide funding to individuals or unregistered groups due to strict governance rules.
